I did know about the diatomaceous earth and its effects on a lot things we don't need around, like cock roaches. it is good to know about the oil as a natural preventative as well. I just got some 1/2 inch harware cloth at Home Depot. It's too flimsy by itself so I'll have to put a couple of pieces of wood on the sides. I haven't put it on yet because I think it will block some of the heat from the bulb. By next week, I shouldn't need the heat bulb any longer. Thanks, Susan. Wish I could participate. It's not possible for me to have a coop or even visit others at this time. My work takes me away from home constantly.
